The challenge
An importer is preparing a China–Mexico order with a quote based on initial information. Once preparation is complete, the supplier reports a different carton count and gross weight, together with updated available quantities. Before confirming shipment, the buyer needs to understand how the changes affect the purchase and the transport proposal.
The MX Pacific Express proposal
The review would begin by requesting the supplier's final packing list for the same order and batch, covering product references, quantities, cartons, dimensions, weights and cargo-ready date. It would be compared with the version used for the inquiry to distinguish replaced details from those still valid. Product or quantity changes would require the buyer's confirmation with the supplier.
The confirmed version would support a review of the logistics scope: pickup, planned capacity or equipment, carrier acceptance and the services included in the proposal. Where charges or conditions needed updating, a revised quote would state which cargo details it used before authorization was requested.
The buyer would approve the cargo version and selected proposal. Responsibility for supplying final documents and communicating instructions to the supplier and carrier would be defined. Any remaining difference would have an identified responsible party and a pending confirmation to resolve before departure was authorized.
What this would help decide
The aim would be a confirmed packing list, a reviewed transport proposal and an authorization referring to the same version. Shipment could then be decided using the final details reported for the order. This scenario concerns coordination of a documentary and commercial update; it presents no completed physical inspection or quality verification.
