Use the festival date as a reference. Request each supplier’s and operator’s closures, reopening arrangements and final cargo-receiving dates separately.
The 2027 reference and what it establishes
The Hong Kong Government lists Lunar New Year’s Day in 2027 as 6 February. This is an official Hong Kong calendar reference; it does not establish a mainland factory’s closure period or a warehouse’s or carrier’s operating schedule.
Ask each business for its last working day, cargo ready date, closure, reopening and capacity to handle work after reopening. If your shipment passes through Hong Kong, also review availability with the parties working there.
Build the schedule from your need in Mexico
Start with your required receiving date and work backwards with the parties responsible for each stage. Complete this table with confirmations; it does not offer transport lead times.
Scroll the table sideways to see all columns.
| Milestone | Who confirms it | What to record |
|---|---|---|
| Inventory need | Your team in Mexico | Product, priority quantity and target date |
| Production and packing | Each supplier | Product completion and packed-cargo ready dates |
| Pre-shipment review | Product and import contacts | Documents and open items affecting dispatch |
| Collection or receiving | Contracted operator | Last accepted receipt and appointment conditions |
| Planned departure | Transport provider | Availability, receiving cutoffs and booking status |
| Arrival and delivery | Destination parties | Estimates, outstanding work and receiving conditions |
| Restart | Suppliers and operators | Reopening and when they could handle your cargo |
Distinguish a finished product from cargo ready for collection
Ask each supplier to separate manufacturing, checks, packing and availability for collection. If the cartons are not yet measured, identify the quote as based on provisional information.
For purchases from multiple suppliers, identify which one determines the combined departure. Ask whether waiting for that lot affects receipt of the other goods or creates extra work and charges. Obtain confirmation before sending goods to a receiving point.
Separate an urgent requirement from the rest of the purchase
For priority items, prepare a separate sheet with quantities, cartons, weight and destination. Where the goods are acceptable and capacity is available, you can request an air or parcel alternative for that portion.
Compare its cost and scope with keeping everything in the ocean plan. The choice depends on inventory needs, confirmed dates and each departure’s requirements. Do not assume one booking or receipt automatically covers both shipments.
Keep changes and decisions visible
Give each date a source, owner and latest confirmation. If a supplier delays packing, review collection, booking and delivery rather than moving only one box in the schedule.
Request written confirmation of changes to validity, price or conditions when switching departures. Establish who may authorize them and when open items will be reviewed again. Keep the decision history with the cargo sheet.
What to send to plan replenishment
Share a supplier-by-supplier list of products, locations, cargo ready dates, packaging and priorities. Include the Mexican destination, target date and any receiving constraints.
MX Pacific Express will review the inquiry and confirm the scope available for the specific shipment. Agree the operational schedule with the parties involved; this guide does not publish company closure dates or guarantee a departure during the festival.
Sources and scope
Sources consulted on 26 October 2026. Checklists and examples are planning guidance prepared by MX Pacific Express. Other operators’ processes illustrate concepts; the conditions for your cargo are confirmed separately.
Prepare your next step
Share the product, packaging, weight, origin and destination. Identify any information still pending so your inquiry can be reviewed with the right scope.
Plan my next replenishmentRoutes, availability and delivery conditions are confirmed in each quote.
